The 2-star Hostal D'uxelles is a charming pension situated on the 2nd floor of a residential apartment. The location is excellent, on Gran Via Cort Catalanes, 10 mins walking distance from Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas area. Guests will appreciate the friendly staff and the rooms, small, but prettily decorated and spotlessly clean. Most of the rooms have a balcony overlooking the street. The breakfast is not included in price, but there is a good Cafe Bar just across the street, where you can get coffee & croissants whilst soaking up the local atmosphere. The hostal d'uxelles is highly recommended and excellent value for money.

Location and Area

This Hostel is located in the area also denominated as "Eixample Right" the biggest museum of Barcelona, for their centennial buildings and the luxury of their trade. The area of the Eixample was designed by the engineer Cerdá i Sunyer who design it following a rigorous layout of grid that was outlined to create an equitable city.

A few steps from the Hostal we can found the more emblematic buildings of Barcelona, LA SAGRADA FAMILIA, work of Antonio Gaudí, is a great Gothic cathedral inspiration and banner of the most modern architecture, it was the biggest project of Gaudi and without a doubt their dearest, what transforms to this area into a place of intense movement, for the great quantity of tourists that visit it, fundamental axis of this neighborhood also we find variety of stores, bars and restaurants.

We found in this area too another important building; HOSPITAL DE SANT PAU, built by the architect Lluis Doménech and Montaner, the Hospital is formed by a main building dedicated to the administration, and 27 pavilions where the medical works and infirmaty are developed. The architect Domènech had several artists that collaborated with him in the project. The main ones were Pau Gargallo that carried out the numerous sculptures of the group, Francesc Labarta designed the paintings and mosaics, y Josep Perpinyà, that charge of the works in wrought iron all this makes to this Hospital the cultural patrimony of barcelona. it also highlights the market of supplies, very popular among the neighbors for their variety of products.
